Inside the lot, a sloping land characterised by typical stone retaining walls, the intervention involved the renovation of an existing building and the construction of two new independent units, in addition to the redesign of the open spaces, paths and common services. Three buildings with different characteristics, united by a series of specifically designed components.
A villa dating back to the 1920s which, through a radical renovation, has been transformed into a house distributed over four levels and two other buildings that exploit the orography of the land to establish peculiar relationships with the landscape. In one case of absolute mimicry and in the other of counterpoint to the main volume. In their external appearance the buildings reinterpret local culture in a contemporary key, avoiding any temptation to the picturesque.
The extensive use of traditional solutions (slate roofs, wooden window frames, terrazzo floors, lime-treated walls) was accompanied by the adoption of technical equipment aimed at minimising energy losses and the use of renewable sources. From a landscape point of view, the intervention had as its objective the maximum integration of the building, achieved by demolishing the additions and recovering the continuity of the tree-lined strips, pre-existing and otherwise.
