RVTK. The house is located above Silandro in Val Venosta, nestled in a setting of single-family and multi-family residences and surrounded by vineyards.

Situated on the southern slope of Monte Sole, the view opens up to Montetramontana with its verdant meadows and forests, a panorama crowned by notable peaks. The valley floor, interrupted by typical alluvial fans, gently rises from east to west towards Resia Pass, the source of the Adige River.

The original building, erected in 1978, consisted of a basement, a ground floor, and an attic. To adapt it to the needs of an extended family, the members decided in 2020 to renovate and expand the house to create three residential units.

The renovation and expansion work involved demolishing and rebuilding the attic with the addition of half a floor and a panoramic terrace. The apartments in the basement and on the ground floor underwent fundamental renovation measures. Finally, the floor plans were modified and expanded with additional spaces, as well as equipped with new openings.

In the northern part of the lot, the parking canopy was demolished and reconstructed as a drivable cover. This way, the upper apartment now benefits from an external and independent access as well as a street-level parking space.

The renovation work on the lower part resulted in two bright residences with private outdoor spaces. The living areas are located on the southern side, with generous openings, and either a loggia or balcony in front. The ground floor also has a hidden staircase that leads from the ground floor to the garden, as well as a covered terrace facing west. The upper unit, now independently accessible, is still connected to the common staircase.

An unworked slab of marble from the Acqua Bianca quarry in Lasa—visible from the house—stands between the entrance and the living area, serving as a dividing element. Behind it, a large glass window offers a full view of the landscape. To the west, there is a terrace protected from view. In addition to the spacious living room with a connected kitchen, this floor has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study. The open-plan attic and rooftop terrace are accessible via an internal staircase.

The plastered base of the building includes the two renovated floors, while the vertical extension is clad with a ventilated curtain facade made of folded raw aluminum elements and larch wood panels.

The house is now inhabited by multiple generations. The orientation of the outdoor areas, the organization of the accesses, and the facade design ensure maximum privacy for the residents. The south facade opens up on all levels with generous openings towards Montetramontana and the valley floor of Val Venosta, while the setbacks create protected outdoor areas. Thus, each floor presents different advantages, expressed in the form of views, terraces, gardens, and loggias.
