In House in a park and Koa there is a tendency to work in monochrome. In Downshire Hill’s work instead you work in duotone. Can you talk about it?
I wanted to create a certain atmosphere thanks to the shades and to the color. I am interested in working on the concepts of slowness and calm even from a chromatic point of view. The color was slightly forced but could never be the real one because any tool you use has been calibrated and the light itself colors. So it is very good to be extreme to convey a state of mind. In Zurich it was autumn, there was fog and I was inside a huge house, all of which created a feeling of “suspension”, of calm, of waiting for something to happen. The monochrome has served to amplify my emotions of that moment.

In Downshire hill, does bichromy really belong to the house?
In part it was amplified by me. Here the project is different because the reinforced concrete characterizes the house a lot and so I chose a more direct approach to highlight the textures.
