Could you talk about Villa B?

In a rural and wooded context, between farms and agricultural land, there is a house with traditional elements that at the same time presents a dynamic shape, with sloped roofs and folds reflected in the interior spaces. This theme is also presented in the choice of materials: the exterior plaster is used for the interior of the house as well, while the black-brown painted larch of the covers is used for the frames. The choice of wood is linked to tradition, specifically that of the surrounding farms. It is also found in the sliding shutters that give a sense of privacy. However, they can be opened if the user wants direct contact with the landscape. The openings establish a strong relationship with the landscape using frames that border them in new unexpected perspectives and through a refrain of recesses and protrusions of the glass with recessed frames that bring the user closer to and immerse them nature. This study of openings is looking for a reconsideration of traditional windows. The result is a dynamic effect that plays with proportions, perspectives, interstices and materiality.

The plants have different levels depending on the coverage pattern. It is also in this case a play of levels that is also reflected on the outside. Wide and open spaces are divided by a central element, the staircase, which articulates the same. Upstairs, masonry and roofing merge to become one, restoring a surprising sense to the three-dimensionality of space. A large triple-height compartment brings the various areas of the house together at a simple glance. The house is defined by a frame that runs along its profile, enclosing it within its intimate environment becomes one with the surrounding landscape.
