Could you tell us about the School of Music in Bruneck?

The building was completed last year. I feel its unpretentiousness and the apparent desire for anonymity transpire very well and if put together with our production, it easily comes across. Every project we undertake must have the right relevance; there are buildings, like for instance the Filarmonica, that somehow colonize the abandoned space they are in by creating a new urban area and becoming a new point of reference with their presence. For the School of Music in Bruneck, we didn’t need to do much in terms of design. The building is located in the historical part of town with villas dating back to the Medieval times where there was only one thing missing: the Villa of the Music School didn’t have a garden. The scope of work for this project was to complete something that already exhisting.

The main caracther was already there therefore it sufficed to build a wall with a door that would lead to the garden that became the central element of the School and almost of the whole country. To us this was a very discreet project but really important because it represents well the tone and attitude that each of our buildings must have. Each project has its own importance; it is paramount to fully comprehend the kind of work that needs to be carried out so as to find the right approach which will result in being either striking or neutral.
