How does Leaphome work?
The innovation of these homes is in the process because they are constructed with an industrial approach. The basic idea, not to build “on site”, has allowed us to eliminate the less ecological element of traditional construction, or the so-called construction site.
Compared to the prefabrication currently present on the market which has a factory construction of about thirty percent of the functioning building, Leaphome arrives close to one hundred percent.
To give you an example of the advantages, we have recently finished a two floors house in Valle d’Aosta. To create it and make it habitable, including the installation of the main systems and furnishings, we spent a little more than a month.
Do these homes have a degree of design flexibility?
I repeat: research and peculiarity is the process. Leap Factory offers constructive solutions that offer extreme flexibility in terms of architectural composition and finishings. To give you an example: in the Lego box there are many recurring pieces, but they can be assembled as I prefer.
Could we say that a Leaphome house is an industrial product?
Yes, right. Behind these constructions there is a huge engineering work, designed and finalized for a serial production. All the products we all know are, for the most part, industrial products. If this was not the case they would have inaccessible costs to most of the people. In Leap we start from the traditional knowledge and objectives of architectural and engineering culture, so we develop a construction system more suitable to contemporary needs. This takes full advantage of the materials, production techniques and organization, typical of the industry. LeapHome is a “home-product”: it gives advantages on the quality, the timing and above all on the environment for both environmental aspects and healthiness of the living space.
