Francesco Meda has created Bridge simply by cutting a sheet of metal that is then folded by hand.

Francesco Meda – Bridge Lamp
Could you say something about the Bridge Lamp?
Bridge is a self-production project and this feature influences the choices of a designer. In fact, for management simplicity, I knew I should have used few suppliers and at the same time I had to produce an object of industrial quality. Bridge’s project starts from the idea of light being the protagonist, and I knew that if I had used LEDs they would help me achieve my goal. I started with these considerations, then I thought about using sheet metal as a support tool. Thanks to the laser cutting technology, the metal sheet can be easily cut to taste and in this case the shape, once cut, is simply folded by hand without the aid of machines.

At the constructive level the object is really simple, a shaped sheet is folded by hand to obtain the structure into which is inserted a led strip. The lamp is made! Only two steps are needed. At the beginning, given the simplicity of the execution, I had thought of having the customer carry out the assembly and hand-folding directly, but then I reconsidered in keeping with market logic and I decided to market it complete.
