YEAR:

Could you tell us about the Montebar Villa project?

We are in the mountains on a terracing above a vineyard, a beautiful place. We had the obligations of the City to build a pitched roof and in a dark color. We started from here and we thought of an object that could be quite compact from the visual point of view. On each side three openings have been created and paneled bookshelves of the same façade cladding have been installed for a sense of continuity. We have completely opened the side facing south to admire the beautiful view of the valley. While sitting in the living area you do not perceive the land downstream and it seems to be suspended in mid-air.
It was really difficult to construct a completely covered monolithic building, in fact we have explored many roads and we have asked to different companies. All the faces of the building, on the meeting line, have the thickness of a 45 degree beveled coating to avoid overlaps. In addition we succeeded in not having any element protruding from the coverage.
