A coffee table inspired from the kinesis and anatomy of the wings (elytra) of the beetle. Whenever the need for extra space arises, one wing of the table can be opened which simultaneously spreads open the other wing!
‘Elytra’ is designed in a way that allows the user easy access to the table top because of its non-static nature. A biomimetic, dynamic furniture piece that is an interactive table that intrigues the user and is a perfect conversation starter over a cup of coffee.
This winged table has also been the recipient of the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA)- Student of the Year 2019. It was also displayed at the WADE Asia, Delhi 2019 and India Design 2020. It was also featured in the Elle Decor India Magazine in the Dec-Jan2020 issue.
