Dado Furniture was the outcome of a commission for workspace furniture by OpenDesk in collaboration with Ineke Hans. London May 2016.
This system takes standard wooden dowelling, moulding and profiles that are found, with a little variation, in DIY stores the world over.

The idea is to create a downloadable open source collection of vertical furniture components (such as shelving ends or bench legs) so that the maker can slot in the horizontal elements – standard railing – and create furniture that can function in whatever way they choose. The final result may be as decorative, quirky, or minimalist as they wish.
